When in the USA, in the hot summer sun
I thought what could be more American
Than a big, fat beef patty on a burger bun
And thus I began my fun expedition
Ravenous, I walked the hubbub of Bombay’s streets
Looking for a late night bite to eat
Sights, sounds, smells assaulting my senses
A throbbing indication of the city’s lures and romances
After my recent embarrassment in France and Italy*
The wife suggested a vacation in Germany
I saw visions of pilsner, lager, ale, porter, malt & stout
Accompanied by sausages, potato salad & sauerkraut
‘allo, let me tell you a story, mon ami
Of how I celebrated our anniversary
Eating baguette from a boulangerie
In the grandest of cities – gay Paree
Sigh, as they say, c’est la vie
Welcome to Italy, sir, buon giorno
