After Dinner Limerick

This plump bugger, this jumbo prawn

Of his brawn he was quickly shorn

Shelled, deveined, fried in masala*

He didn’t die in vain, this li’l fella

He satisfied man, do not his demise mourn

Now lying dead in a belly full of beer

Along with a few of his brothers dear

Having ingested them all

Will no doubt spike the cholesterol

This next morning is less cheer, more fear

* IndianΒ spice mix
