Her halo intact

Pure and pristine

Ticking, Traumatized

A hand reaches down.
And picks them up, gingerly, gently, with care.
A fractured fragment.
A shattered shard.
Brittle, broken, ruptured remnants.
Places them in order.

I’d rather write a thousand words
And have you draw that one picture
On the canvas of your mind

You know that familiar scalloped shape
Tapering to a point
Colour it a crimson
Let the paint run

SHEET OF PAIN

See that wad of paper on the floor?

Crushed, crumpled, forlorn and alone,
Cast aside and thrown away, ignored, stepped upon…
Without the dignity of being put in a bin,
Where it can lie hidden, in wait of recycling.

It was once a fresh, crisp sheet.

Thus It Broke

Seduced by her visage
Her laughter, the temptress
Bewitching, captivating, ensnaring
Cupid’s mischievous minstrel plucked a tune with my heartstrings
As the sorceress drew me ever deeper in
To a rapturous dalliance
Till my ensuing torment
Was shredded by the rapier of reality
