Today, I wish for my country…

It’s India’s 67th Republic Day. And as we move forward and take our place in the sun, here’s what I wish for. It’s by eminent poet & Nobel Laureate and the only man who’s composed the national anthems of two countries (India & Bangladesh) – Rabindranath Tagore, and is a masterful, inspirational piece of poetry. I’m sure most Indians on this forum will be familiar with it!

SUNSHINE AWARD – THANK YOU

So, I’ve been nominated for this Award by someone whose real name I do not know – how cool/weird is that – but thank you, Impostorpawn (@ https://ofsenseandsensibility.wordpress.com), and bless you! Not fully comprehending what it means, I’m assuming it’s some form of accolade, a recognition from a peer / fellow blogger that they kinda like my work. Well, thank you again! It means a lot. I’m proud and I’m happy that my pieces have a connect with a few of you out there. My work is reflective of me & my many moods and interests – I am a complex individual with what I think are fairly eclectic tastes. And before, in true subcontinental fashion, my acceptance speech drones on, thanks for the 3rd time. I’m blushing under my 6 o’clock shadow!

The rules for accepting this award are:

1) Thank the person who nominated you.

2) Answer the questions from the person who has nominated you.

  1. What’s the most important thing in your life? I’m tempted to say my daughter, but it’s my wellbeing.
  2. Why? Let me explain, if I feel good (and I am not very demanding in a material sense), I can do good for her, the rest of my family, the people around me, the world at large. Hence, my answer.
  3. Any unfulfilled dreams? Oh, plenty!
  4. Which ones? World peace (aint going to happen), discover the real me, fall in love again, cease worrying…
  5. What kind of person would you say you are? A complex, seemingly contradictory human with many a wart.
  6. What kind do you aspire to be? I want to find my innermost limits by looking within.
  7. Why? I see myself increasingly wanting to step away from regular life into a more soul-seeking kind of domain, so who knows? There are so many questions to which I want answers.
