The Adamancy of Want

So stubborn is desire

Paying heed to neither reason
Nor logic
Not the past either
In shadowing unknown destiny

Obdurate in its pursuit
Ignorant of
Oblivious to the consequences

Resilience, persistence
A nagging patience
Qualities it possesses
Fearless, yet fearful, both at once
As if that’s even possible

Strange, how the heart
Has a mind of its own
Forcing the body to follow
