Just A Crackle and A Clap?

It strikes
A flash
An electric spark
Travelling at the speed of light
A bolt from the blue
Lighting up the grey for an instant
Accompanied by a rumble
As it hits its mark
Setting afire,Β lighting a flame, singeing
And then it’s over
Charred cinders mark the spot
A fallacy
That it never strikes the same place twice
It does
Over and over
Even when ashes are all there’s left to burn

  1. Enjoy the Diwali celebrations Kunal. We have a ban on fireworks most most of the time but we do get to appreciate those explosions of colour and sound which take your breath away during Diwali and New Years celebrations. Of course the metaphor is also apt. You can burn again and again!
