Love’s Lunar Calendar

We met on a full moon day

And my heart was all radiant

Reflecting the love it perceived

Circumstance intervened

Like an obstructing otherworldly object

To make the bright orb wane into a faint crescent

Feeble glow, an arc eclipsed behind an envelope of dark clouds

My heart, now dark and cratered

Pain unseen, like the far side of the moon

I wait patiently for another fortnight

For a new phase

Whence the tides will swell again

I will try to hold these lines with me through life. There are natural cycles in life and we have to remember that after darkness comes light.
