You might do a double take. This is not Manhattan from across the Hudson, but a view of Mumbai from one end of what we call the sea-link – a bridge across a bay that runs parallel to the coastal road and connects two parts of our island city.
While I marvel at the construction and admire the view, I’m also in dread of the concrete monstrosities coming up so rapidly everywhere, in disdain of the infrastructure, greenery, quality of life, etc.
C’est la vie? 😦
What a breathtaking shot.

Spectacular landscape Kunal. Though stayed there for many years, it’s been ages since I visited the city. I guess the trip is long pending now!!

Yes. Should plan it sometime. In fact my daughter was born there and always complains that ” you have not taken me to my city of birth “😣

Hi Kunal
Beautiful and breathtaking. Never been to Mumbai so this appears to be very tempting. You do come up up with lovely and varied posts which are very interesting.

You must visit, aunty, although it’s not all that you’ve heard about or seen in the movies or imagined it to be. And guaranteed to be very different from Simla! 😊

Yes I think I must venture forth from a simple and peaceful life of a small town to witness what the big bad metropolitans are like .

I remember Marine Drive and Chowpatty beach or something? It’s a beautiful photo, and yes our cities are becoming concrete jungles.

Yes, Marine Drive & Chowpatty. When illuminated at night and viewed from the Hanging Gardens, it looks like the Queens Necklace.

For all its ills, I love this city. But I’m envious of your space & infra & greenery 😤

You’ve got a lovely skyline. Pity about the problems of density. Hope you’ve had a great Father’s day! 😀

Ah, I see it in your latest poem. Something that we’re all faced with but always hoping that make and get the best of our time here.

Great shot. And yes, the skyline does have clear similarities. But maybe (hopefully) Mumbai will handle its continuing growth spurts with greater care than many of its urban peers.

Thank you! But looking at the past, I doubt it 😕

Though history has a tendency toward repetition, we can still hope.
