A monsoon cloud teasing a parched heart
A mirage oasis shimmering in a desert haze
A grand piano beckoning slender, talented fingers
A vast, empty field awaiting the freed hooves of a thoroughbred
A proboscis exploring open petals
A flint provoking a spark; embers awaiting a call to life
A mood-changing chameleon, unsure of the next colour
A dainty tendril waiting to clasp and wind itself around a support
A coy virgin; a seductress demanding instant gratification
A syringe of words waiting to infect me with their contagion
A woodpecker chiselling away; a squirrel burrowing away
A chefβs knife peeling away onion skin by the layer to get to the very core
A seeing eye for the sightless; a looking glass turned inwards
A rosary; a set of manacles; an anchor; a freewheeling kite without string
AnΒ inseparable soulmate
Genius flow of lyrical style
Much accomplished

Hello there! Just stopping by to say I really love your writing – it moves me in ways I cannot fathom and Iβm in awe that you are able to put such profound thoughts into words. If you have the time, it would be immensely helpful if you could check out my poetry blog: https://theemptyvalleyoftides.wordpress.com/ and my prose blog: https://andtheriverfelltosleep.wordpress.com/. Would love to get some comments/feedback from you on my latest posts on both blogs. If you would like some feedback from me too, do sound it out! Thank you so much and have a great day/night/wherever it is in the world for you right now (: Sending you love xx

Wow K! You never cease to amaze me… Must say I haven’t heard too many Gujju bhais with such splendid vocabulary and ease of words! Really enjoyed this one…
My favorite line is the one with proboscis!!! I think there’s a certain gentle thought behind that line and it just won my heart π cheers… Have a lovely day!

Haha, are you implying Gujjus can’t speak the Queen’s language well enough? π Thanks! And you have a lovely day, yourself!

Haha… Unfortunately all the gujju people I’ve met fail on some level in the language of the British court π but after reading your work I might change my opinion! π

The word monsoon caught my attention but little did I know that the poem was so much more. I could feel intensity, teasing, relief and gratification. Beautiful poem π
