THE PEN & I

A monsoon cloud teasing a parched heart

A mirage oasis shimmering in a desert haze

A grand piano beckoning slender, talented fingers

A vast, empty field awaiting the freed hooves of a thoroughbred

A proboscis exploring open petals

A flint provoking a spark; embers awaiting a call to life

A mood-changing chameleon, unsure of the next colour

A dainty tendril waiting to clasp and wind itself around a support

A coy virgin; a seductress demanding instant gratification

A syringe of words waiting to infect me with their contagion

A woodpecker chiselling away; a squirrel burrowing away

A chef’s knife peeling away onion skin by the layer to get to the very core

A seeing eye for the sightless; a looking glass turned inwards

A rosary; a set of manacles; an anchor; a freewheeling kite without string

AnΒ inseparable soulmate

  1. Hello there! Just stopping by to say I really love your writing – it moves me in ways I cannot fathom and I’m in awe that you are able to put such profound thoughts into words. If you have the time, it would be immensely helpful if you could check out my poetry blog: https://theemptyvalleyoftides.wordpress.com/ and my prose blog: https://andtheriverfelltosleep.wordpress.com/. Would love to get some comments/feedback from you on my latest posts on both blogs. If you would like some feedback from me too, do sound it out! Thank you so much and have a great day/night/wherever it is in the world for you right now (: Sending you love xx
