The Death of Love

Bad loves metamorphoses

From flesh & blood to putty first

Then glass, finally base stone

A warm, living, beating object

Is beaten into a corpse, a carcass, a cadaver

Rigor mortis and irreversibility

Hurt hearts don’t heal
