Pretty petals all in a row,
speaking in purple prose.
Florals that hit a note,
posies that bring forth poesy.
Lavender and Lilac.
Violet and Plum.
Orchid and Amethyst.
Mauve and Periwinkle.
Iris and Heather and Wisteria.
Blooming and bountiful.
Hues and shades,
the heart awash
with the splendiferous colours of nature.
Magical beautiful words for a gardener…and stunning photo with them. A perfect start to a glorious sunny day here in Scotland. Thanks so much.

Glad you liked it! This was at a garden on a recent visit to Udaipur in Rajasthan (a princely state with such a rich heritage). Stunning colours!

Colour? In Bombay? All I can see is endless gray!!! 😦
Thanks for visiting and appreciate your hugs!

Maybe…..Just reflecting on the piece…. May even be ‘tongue-in-Cheek’. 😉

I got it, uncle, I was lamenting the death of Bombay! It irks me that there’s nothing left here except soulless concrete. Atleast Delhi has its gardens and open spaces….. Your hugs somewhat lift my spirits!

The very names of flowers are colours too. Your joyful poem reminds me of one I wrote. Must recycle it! Thank you.

Surprise: I found I’d made a video of myself (madly dishevelled) reading the poem. The words are at the end. Enjoy! http://www.rachelmcalpine.com/readings/
