Why can’t we see sweetness and smell fuschia?
Feel crimson and taste ultramarine?
Hear sorrow and see softness?
Smell happy and hear bitter?
Why can’t we touch brightness?
Hear wet earth?
See the salt in the ocean?
Smell the sweetness in honey?
Taste blindness?
Or listen to a rainbow?
What if we could?
What if sublime consciousness
Or rampant, intoxicated imagination
Could enable and elevate the senses to transcend
beyond nuance to a new dimension?
Beautifully penned and thought provoking post 🙂

Thank you! On a lighter note, you think a substance might alternately help? Just kidding… too old to try!!! 🙂

LOL. It depends what you exactly mean by the “Substance” 😀
You are never too old to try though, just sayin’ 😀 Not the heavy stuff 😛 But obliviously it’s not a solution, maybe a good way to ignore and avoid but eventually your problems catch up with you no matter how much you run away from them 🙂

Oooh. I love this poem. Have you heard of synesthesia? It’s a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to an involuntary experience in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. So numbers may be experienced as colors, colors experienced as sounds. It’s considered an aberration, but perhaps its a step closer to enlightenment. 🙂

No, I haven’t at all, to be honest. But that’s so fascinating, I will google it up later tonight. Thanks for this! And like I emntioned to Zee in one of my earlier comments, we all know of “substances” that can also enahnce your senses!!! 😉
Thank you, again!

What if all of this actually happens and we just haven’t reached there yet? What if we haven’t expounded our strengths (and I don’t mean physical, but mental strength) to the maximus?

Evocative, spectacular work, arousing the senses. What if we could….? Indeed. ❤

I think we can… I can feel and hear the trees, feel the moist earth, etc., just takes some practice and concentration and 35 years of meditation practice helps as well! Love your writing 🙂
