HOW DIFFICULT IT IS…

How difficult it is to harness your thoughts.
How difficult it is to align them with another’s.

How difficult it is to tread the path untrod.
How difficult it is to walk the way the world walks.

How difficult it is to express yourself.
How difficult it is to keep your feelings to yourself.

How difficult it is to be yourself.
How difficult it is to be someone else.

How difficult it is to live up to success.
How difficult it is to live through failure.

How difficult it is to live by yourself.
How difficult it is to live with somebody.

How difficult it is to sleep alone.
How difficult it is to share a bed.

How difficult it is to give grace.
How difficult it is to accept responsibility.

How difficult it is to let go.
How difficult it is to say sorry.

How difficult it is to seek forgiveness.
How difficult it is to forgive.

How difficult it is to keep the faith.
How difficult it is to give it up.

How difficult it is to accept death.
How difficult it is to accept life.

How difficult it is to find peace.
How difficult it is to then not seek anything more.

How difficult it is to love.
How difficult it is to unlove.
How difficult it is to love again.

How difficult is it?

  1. You know, I bet that most of us will ask these questions sometime in our lives and even if we don’t ask them, we will act or react because of one of these questions. I like the final question in the end – “How difficult is it?”
Often it’s only with hindsight that you can answer this. Funny thing,I’ve just been dealing with a problem where a number of these questions are pertinent where I guess my answer to that final question would be something like: “It is going to be difficult but not solving the problem will lead to greater difficulties” I guess these questions are what life is all about. Thank you for this thought-provoking post Kunal.
